New Beginnings Church - Mint Hill, NC

Mc2 Engineering has a very long relationship with New Beginnings Church spanning 10 years and 3 phases. The original phase was completed by others, but every phase since has been a collaboration between Mc2 and New Beginnings. The various phases have included:

  • A new multi-purpose building for their larger worship services
  • Maximizing parking on-site
  • Additional parking across the road from the campus to provide a total 590 parking spaces
  • A community/counseling building to better serve the needs of the congregation and community.
As with most Church expansions, it is extremely important to look at phasing the project to minimize impact on current services.

Key aspects of project:
  • Several rezoning hearings over the years
  • Roadway improvements
  • Stormwater management
  • On-site package sanitary sewer pump station

Steel Creek Church of Charlotte - Charlotte, NC

The original phase was completed by others, Mc2 completed the last phase consisting of a 33,000 sf sanctuary addition with theater seating for 2200 people. The parking lots were reconfigured to maximize parking at 689 spaces and modified to create better traffic flow before and after services minimizing idling team in the parking lots.

First Baptist Church of Marshville - Marshville, NC

The new Church campus includes a 24,740 sf building with worship seating for 300 and 151 space parking lot.

Key aspects of project:

  • Coordination with two different utility departments for domestic water and for fire protection.
  • Sanitary sewer extension
  • Low density development

West Cabarrus Church - Concord, NC

The church expansion added a learning center with administrative offices. The site design included tying the proposed building into the existing campus and providing additional parking, while minimally impacting existing church services. Part of the approval process included presenting the church before the Zoning Board of Appeals for a Variance from the RSOD requirement in the zoning code.

Nations Ford Community Church - Charlotte, NC

The church campus expansion included a new 950 seat worship center. After further review of the existing parking lot it was determined that there were several inefficiencies. 20 additional parking spaces were added with minor cost to the existing parking lot, plus another 133 parking spaces - for a total of 430 parking spaces.

This large scale project was phased to enable existing facilities to operate, while new construction occured.
